(February 19, 2016 E.C. M) The minister of women and social affairs has given humanitarian aid to the communities affected by the earthquake in Fentale woreda in Oromia and Afar regions.
The minister of women and social affairs minister Ergoge Tesfaye (Dr) who attended the support delivery ceremony said, the ministry has given training to the professionals who provide support services to prevent social and psychological problems from the time of the accident.
Today, by being at the site, he collected resources on the basis that he promised earlier and donated food grains, children and adults clothing support, as well as hygiene equipment and almi meals to the affected people.
The minister’s office has said earlier that it has been cooperating with other stakeholders and partners to help those affected by natural and man-made disasters.
The minister said that she will work in coordination with the relevant authorities to enable citizens to return to their former lives and establish themselves in a sustainable way.
The officials of the two regions on their part thanked the ministry for the support it gave to the victims.
On that day the higher officials visited the displaced people and consoled them.
