
Third Ethiopian-Slovenian joint political consultation is being held in Addis Ababa
The third Ethiopian-Slovenian joint political consultation was held in Addis Ababa.
In his keynote address, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, highlighted the overall reforms being implemented by Ethiopia. He stressed the strengthening of bilateral ties between the two countries and the need for deepening economic cooperation.
Ambassador Hadera also stressed that Ethiopia’s national economic reform program and the extensive ongoing macroeconomic reform programs have created favorable investment opportunities. The Minister of State also called for the continuation and strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries in various fields, including artificial intelligence (AI), water resource management, renewable energy, education, manufacturing industry and tourism.
Slovenia’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Marko Štucin, on his part, said that his country would work to enable Slovenian companies to exploit favorable investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
Ministers of State also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest to the people of both countries. The two sides also signed a memorandum of agreement to advance political consultations.
Following the political consultation, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Ambassador Nebiat Getachew, gave a press briefing and revealed that the Slovenian President is expected to arrive in Addis Ababa for an official working visit.
