Ethiopia and Armenia held their first political consultation
The first political consultation between Ethiopia and the Republic of Armenia was held in Addis Ababa.
The consultation was co-chaired by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan.
In his address, Ambassador Hadera stressed that Ethiopia and Armenia have long-standing interpersonal and diplomatic relations that span several generations. He stressed that the political consultation between the two countries would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations in areas such as ICT, high technology and smart agriculture, trade, investment and tourism. The State Minister also stressed that it would contribute to international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and closer collaboration in various multilateral platforms.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Vahan Kostanyan, on his part, stressed Armenia’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Ethiopia in all sectors, adding that his country is actively working to strengthen political and economic cooperation with Ethiopia.
The two parties have agreed to hold the second round of political consultations in Yerevan, Armenia.
